The Media Ministry was founded in the early 1960’s by Deacon John Butler who began making audio cassette tapes of worship services. In 1970 he added the visual component by offering VHS video tapes. This ministry evolved with technology and the video tapes have ultimately been replaced with DVD’s and CD’s. The Media Ministry’s name was changed in 2010 to honor Deacon Butler. Pastor Duckworth presented Deacon Butler with a plaque to recognize & acknowledge his years of service to Gethsemane in the Media Ministry.
Mission
Our Mission is to serve Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church by providing comprehensive Media Services that will promote the best in worship experiences. To produce quality DVD’s / CD’s that allow worshippers alignment with beautiful visual and audio presentations. These DVD’s/CD’s will assist in the communion with God, even when worshippers are unable to attend services. The Ministry also supports Pastor Duckworth and all of Gethsemane’s ministries in their events and educational endeavors.
